The Connaught Pub & Kitchen

Cost: £12.50

Reviewed: 25/04/2014

This month's venue was The Connaught Pub & Kitchen at 48 Hove Street which is the sister restaurant of The Dyke, which we visited earlier in April.

The menu at The Connaught claims to source local produce where possible and 'make the best use of what's freshest and tastiest in Sussex.'

Unfortunately, for this particular burger tasting mission we were a man light, after Greg decided to go and do something far more important, like work or something.

Anyway, collated scores are below and overall I think we were all very impressed by the offerings. Stuart particularly enjoyed the brie, bacon and guacamole filling, although coupling the guacamole with an aioli mayo meant it was necessary to enforce a two metre garlic exclusion zone later on in the day.

On a separate issue and after much conjecture the friendly Bar Manager confirmed that the huge painting on the wall was in fact Iggy Pop and not either Keith Moon or Kenny Dalgleish as suspected by one or two of the Code 7 testing team.

Accessibility

For customers with accessibility requirements the Connaught does not specifically provide any additional facilities although the toilets are easily accessed and very roomy. The entrance is a very small step up but there is no ramp.

In terms of parking, there is a disabled bay right outside the front door but I'm told it's often occupied by a nearby resident.

Anyways, go eat dem burgers, they is mighty fine!
